2018-2019 Concerts Schedule

Thank You Series Sponsors...

The Hot Springs Village Concerts Association is bringing the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, to Hot Springs Village for a week-long theatre workshop.  The MCT tour directors will arrive in HSV on July 9, 2018 with a set, lights, costumes, props, and make-up – everything needed to put on a play…except the cast.  The directors will hold an open audition on July 9th at Woodlands Auditorium at 10:00 a.m. and will cast 50-60 local students ages 6-18 to perform in the production of The Princess and the Pea.  Although there is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play, students wishing to participate in the workshop free of charge and to audition must arrive by 10:00 and stay for the entire two-hour session.  The first rehearsal begins approximately 15 minutes after the audition.  This is a group audition – no advance preparation is necessary, but a smile J never hurts.  Students should be ready to have a good time!

Rehearsals will be conducted every day, July 9-13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Woodlands Auditorium, 1101 DeSoto Blvd in Hot Springs Village.  Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and be available for all scheduled performances.  A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition.  Cast members scheduled for the full 4 hours and 15 minutes will be asked to bring a sack lunch to be eaten during the 15-minute break between sessions.

The show will be performed Friday, July 13 at 5:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 14 at 3:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Auditorium.  A cast party will follow the Saturday performance.

This week-long theatre workshop is made possible free of charge by the Hot Springs Village Concerts Association with help from the Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association Recreation Department.  These organizations are pleased to provide this opportunity to our youth in support of the MCT’s mission to develop life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.

Please complete the permission slip on the opposite side of this flyer and return it to Rita Bohn at 28 San Augustin Way, Hot Springs Village, AR  71909 or bring the completed permission slip when your student arrives for the audition on July 9th.  Call 501-297-3242 if you have any questions.  Can’t wait to see you there!
